BOOKING TERMS & CONDITIONS

All apartments are fitted to VisitBritain 3 Star standard with modern furniture and fitted kitchens with full size electric cookers, refrigerators, ample cutlery, crockery, glassware, toaster, microwaves, cooking utensils and tea-towels.  Hand and bath towels are not normally supplied but are available upon request.  Beds are made up for your arrival; linen and blankets are included (linen changed weekly).  All apartments are supplied with a hair dryer.  The central heating is gas fired.  All kitchens and bathrooms are heated.  Fully equipped laundry room with ironing facilities, also outside drying lines.
                                                                                   
For fire safety reasons, guests are not permitted to bring electrical appliances such as portable heaters, deep fat fryer, electric blankets or irons into the apartments – also no candles.  Audio equipment, mobile phone chargers etc. are acceptable.
                                                                                    
Cots and highchairs are available free of charge provided they are requested in advance.  Children up to the age of two years accepted in cots from which age they are classed as a person in a bed.  Bedding for cots is not supplied.
                                                                                
The accommodation shall be used only by the persons listed on the Booking Form.  More persons may be added by arrangement with the proprietors provided the capacity of the Apartment is not exceeded.  There is one car parking space provided for each apartment.  Extra cars may be parked subject to space being available and by arrangement only.

The person making the booking must be 21 years or over.  Families and couples only.  No singles groups accepted.

The apartments must be vacated by 10.00 a.m. on day of departure except by arrangement with proprietors.  The occupants undertake to keep the premises, furniture and fittings etc. in a clean and tidy condition and so leave them and make good of pay for articles of furniture, fixtures or fittings broken, lost, damaged or destroyed during their occupation.  An invoice for damage, excessive cleaning or loss of rent due to an apartment not being in a suitable condition to let will be submitted after departure and within 7 days.

Terms are weekly Saturday to Saturday in summer season and to facilitate thorough cleaning, the keys to apartments are available FROM 2.30 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. on day of arrival.  In the event of a later, or other day arrival, special arrangements must be made with the proprietors regarding time and collection of keys.  In the event of no such arrangements being made with the proprietors, apartments with balance payments due will be made available for re-letting after 7.00 p.m. on the same day.  Subject to availability some bookings may be accepted on other days.

ALL BOOKINGS ARE INSURED AGAINST CANCELLATION INCLUDING DEPOSITS AND THIS SERVICE IS INCLUDED WITHIN THE PRICE*.  The full conditions of the insurance policy, which is underwritten by Allianz Cornhill are available upon request by post or can be accessed via the tariff page on our website.  Cancellation will need to be advised to us in writing.  If cancellation is not covered by the insurance policy conditions then the hirer will be held responsible for the WHOLE AMOUNT of the booking unless the accommodation is re-let and the same terms obtained.  A deposit of 25% secures the booking.  Balance payments by cheque to be made within 7 working days of arrival date or by credit/debit cards/British Pound Sterling on arrival. (Cheques to be made payable to “P. Moorhouse”).  A booking is complete when you receive our official confirmation.
*Reasons for cancellation such as disinclination to travel etc is not covered.

Please contact for availability prior to payment of deposit.  Provisional bookings will be re-let if the deposit is not received within 7 working days.  Payments in full to be received by return if booking is made within 7 days of arrival date.  No reminder letter will be issued.

No pets may be brought into the apartments unless by special arrangement and must be included on Booking Form.  Dogs should be on a leash at all times in corridors and grounds and must not be left unattended in apartments.  In the interest of hygiene, PETS ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THE BEDDING OR FURNITURE.  Please bring own pet bedding and utensils.  An invoice for excessive cleaning or damage incurred will be made.

The proprietors shall not be liable to any persons for any personal injury or loss of, or damage to property, however caused or sustained.

In the interests of others, guests must ensure that there is no unreasonable amount of noise within their apartment at any time and in particular from any television or audio equipment.  The proprietors reserve the right to terminate a reservation, without notice, if such behaviour of an individual or party cause disturbance or nuisance to others.    South Sands Apartments is a totally “Non smoking” establishment -  including grounds.
